She is restless. She has refused all stereotypes associated with the female gender especially in a male dominated society like Nigeria. She won’t back down, give in or give up. Ada Ekeh keeps pushing the ceiling. DUDU BLOG had an encounter with her recently.
DUDU BLOG: Please tell us about yourself.
ADA: My name is Ekeh Ifunanya Ada Johnson. I hail from Imo state, Nigeria. I live in Lagos. I’m a final year student of Mass Communication at Tansian University, Umunya, Anambra state, Nigeria. I’m a plus size model and a distributor of Saphirre scents perfumes.
DIUDU BLOG: Why did you choose modelling?
ADA: I’ve always wanted to be a model. Modelling has been a hidden part of me. My radio talk show and acting actually brought it out.
DUDU BLOG: Modelling job is very demanding. How do you cope?
ADA: Lol! It’s not been easy, but I try to pull through. I make sure that I put a professional touch in every job I do. That way, I satisfy my employers and smile home with an envelope.
DUDU BLOG: What is your fashion / beauty routine?
ADA: Actually, I don’t have any. I just wear any cloth I’m comfortable with, and I don’t wear make-up unless it’s necessary. I just go natural in anything I wear and do.
DUDU BLOG: How do you feel as a plus size model?
ADA: I feel great, confident, bold, and beautiful. I make people understand that one can be big and beautiful at the same time, in whatever you wear, be it lingerie. I feel positive.
DUDU BLOG: How well has the fashion / entertainment industry accepted plus size models?
ADA: Well, we’re still coming up. We’re better than when we started. People are beginning to recognize plus size models. We’re not giving up.
DUDU BLOG: What do you do when you are not modelling?
ADA: Like I mentioned earlier, I’m a distributor for Sapphire Scents perfumes. I also run a programme on Tansian University F.M
DUDU BLOG: Thank you for your time.
ADA: Thank you.
