Genevieve Nnaji’s Movie ‘Lionheart’ To Represent Nigeria At 2020 Oscars

Genevieve Nnaji’s movie “Lionheart has been given the nod to represent Nigeria at the 2020 Oscars, according to a new report coming from Nigeria.

The movie which is the first Nigerian movie to be submitted for nomination will be under the Best International Film category.

The veteran actress turned producer could not hide her excitement as she flooded social media to pat herself on the shoulder as well the wonderful team who came together to transmit the blockbuster movie the way she envisaged.

She added that she was indeed grateful to the team that made the movie a success and was proud to carry the torch for Nigeria.

In her Instagram post she had this to say:

“The Nigerian Oscar Selection Committee has chosen @lionheartthemovie to represent Nigeria for the 2020 Academy Award for Best International Film!

“This is the first entry ever for Nigeria. It’s an honor to be a part of such a pivotal moment in the history of Nigerian cinema.

“A moment we know will be replicated as our stories continue to resonate with audiences around the world.

“On behalf of the entire LIONHEART team and TEN Productions, we are grateful for this recognition and proud to carry the torch.

Thank you all for the love and support thus far. 

 The Oscars, also known as the Academy Awards are awards for artistic and technical merit in the film industry in America.
